Recycled bricks, hand-cleanedFormerly Paddy Bricks

Every brick here has stood somewhere before.

We take bricks out of old Melbourne walls, clean every one by hand, and keep each job's bricks together so they match. Then they go up again in your home, your garden or your next build.

Each reused brick saves around 0.5 to 1.5 kg of CO₂ compared with a new one.

The yard

Melbourne's bricks, given a second life.

Ali Recycled Bricks carries on more than 50 years of know-how from Paddy Bricks Melbourne, now under a new name and with the same care.

Call them recycled, reclaimed or second hand bricks; they are the same thing, and our yard in Williamstown North is full of them. Reds, creams, clinkers and pavers, always in stock. Tell us about the job and we will tell you which bricks work best, then bring them right to your site.

A note from the yard

Every pallet you see here came out of a real wall somewhere in Melbourne. We clean them by hand, one at a time, because that is the only way to keep the character and lose the mortar.

Names pressed into clay

Many of our bricks still carry their maker's stamp.

The hollow in the top of a brick is called the frog, and old Melbourne brickworks pressed their names into it. These are a few we have found in the yard.

How it works

From an old wall to your new one.

Every brick takes the same five steps before it reaches your site.

Dismantle01

Dismantle

We take down buildings and walls with modern equipment and a careful hand, so the bricks survive the trip.

Clean by hand02

Clean by hand

Each brick is cleaned by hand to remove old mortar, cement and dirt, then sorted for strength and finish.

Match03

Match

Bricks are kept job by job, never mixed, so colour, texture and size stay consistent across your whole order.
